Group - Storyboard

What is the purpose of Storyboarding?

Storyboards are collections illustrations or images organized into a sequence to for the purpose of representing a motion picture, or in our situation a music video. The storyboard will allow our group to visualize the type of shots which will be using. Furthermore we can also determine our camera movement for the individual shots. Once our the images for our storyboard are organized into order we will then be able to determine whether our group will need more, or less shots.

What can we learn from making an animatic?

After the group has produced our storyboard we then proceed to produce an animatic. The animatic in particular we allow the group to determine whether the shots are lasting for too long, or even too short, meaning we can maximize the audience’s attention.

Evaluate the storyboard so far?

Our storyboard is currently in working process, however we currently believe it is going well. From our first small cut scene we were able to realise that more shots were needed for the video to maintain audience attention. The angles the group has been visualizing have also come out successfully on paper. Although an improvement to made on the storyboard could be the representation of distance, as so far it is hard to distinguish distances with our current illustrations.

  1. I think it is essential that we complete our Animatic as this will give us a clear indication on the length our shots should be.
