Group - Pitch Presentation for the Greenlight

What skills did you use at AS to produce the pitch?

At AS we used the basic skills needed to give a pitch presentation, we simply explained our ideas and used images to show our intent of the film making and to obtain the greenlight. We used a simple presentation of which we spoke about the concept of the idea

What obstacles and weaknesses did you incur?

Although we learnt a lot from our AS pitch, we still had problems and challenges that we needed to overcome. For example, we needed to overcome the location in which we wanted t oshoot which was Brighton. We overcame this by organising our time very well and booking the equipment well in advance. Other obstacles we needed to overcome were all the tracking shots, doing it with handi-cam did not work well atoll, so we then got the correct equipment including the dolly and tracking equipment.

How did you improve your performance at A2?

We learnt a lot from AS, we were able to improve and develop on our pitch, focusing on every aspect of the concept in good detail. We did this by creating a basic powerpoint to show the main factors of the different ideas we had. We had a basic powerpoint so we could directly speak to the audience about the on screen ideas. We created a conversation amongst our group to make it more interesting to the audience and we were able to explain in great detail our concept instead of reading of the screen without extensive knowledge on the topics discussed.

Evaluation of the outcome of the pitch.

Our pitch was very successful and we achieve the greenlight. Not only this, due to the audiences’ response who suggested reasons that could cause problems to our idea. Therefore we were able to come up with ideas to overcome any problems that may occur. Furthermore the audience also came up with alternative ideas of which some we have/will use. Moreover the pitch allowed all the members of the group to understand all the factors of the ideas, including the organisation of time and equipment.
