JM - Initial Ideas

'Pieces ft Plan B' - (Chase and Satus, 2009) 'Ram Records'

We can learn a lot from the video as the majority of footage was filmed on a camera simular to the one we will be using.

  • The interesting techniques which may be avaliable to us are the quick cutting rate at the chorus of the song whilst the artist is lip syncing. The quick cutting rate provides room for error with the lip syncing, which is likely to be a difficult task to overcome.

Furthermore the intro to this particular music video is simple but effective.

  • We would also be able to emulate this introduction as we have the access to a recording studio
  • This may be useful to seperate the performance and narrative parts of the Music video. It is likely that if our group are to use a simular scene to this.
  • We would also use simular camera shots. For example numerous panning close ups of the artists face, lips etc.

'I know a song' (Plan B, 2010)

  • This particular track would allow us to be extremely creative as the track would fit a narrative and performance video. In my mind, both a narrative and performance would fit best to this track.
  • The song is generally slow throughout allowing us to easily lip sync.
  • Furthermore another part of this track which appealed to us is the Guitar. The video, for example could begin with an actor in a studio playing a guitar, similar to the introduction shown above in 'Pieces ft Plan B' (Chase and Status, 2009).
  • The slow pace of the song would also give us the opportunity to include numerous close up showing the actors emotions.
